Cardiovascular pharmacology is concerned with drugs that are used in the treatment of Cardiovascular diseases. Medications are used to treat a variety of heart problems. The following are some examples of drugs used in cardiovascular medicine:

  • Anticoagulants or blood thinners
  • Antiplatelet agents 
  • Thrombolytic agents
  • Angiotensin-converting enzyme (ACE) inhibitors
  • Angiotensin II receptor blockers (ARBs)
  • Diuretics
  • Calcium channel blockers
  • Vasodilators
  • Digoxin
